The last weekend of summer will be marked this year by the 5th annual Fête de la Gastronomie, a country wide festive celebration of French cuisine and its listing on UNESCO's world heritage list. Each edition of the festival will take a new theme to embrace and the further base the events around. This year's #FeteGastronomie will be under the patronage of three stars chef Anne-Sophie Pic, worldwide known for her creative and audacious cuisine as well as for her national and international engagement in promoting the French gastronomy. Over 10,000 events were scheduled last year, with similar expectations for this year as well. Come the 25th, 26th and 27th of September and head to the streets loaded with their dishes, recipes and menus or simply just their personal cutlery as citizens and travellers all throughout France come together to truly enjoy the wonders of French gastronomy. As a centre piece behind this wonderful festival, chefs and restaurants will be creating menus for the public to taste. You can even exchange ideas on recipes and discover new ways to approach cooking through discussions with the chefs on the day. On top of all that, you will also find opportunities to taste and learn more about the art of accompanying wines to your dishes, a difficult skill in itself yet the chefs and restaurateurs will be more than excited in sharing their ideas and opinions to ensure you get the most out of every bite... or sip!
