Pete and Ruth Daily moved from Ottawa, Canada to Volcan, Panama in October, 2009. In April, 2011 they moved into a house known as Casa Volcan and decided to use the two spare bedrooms as a B&B, since both had private bathrooms. Shortly after moving in, they had a greenhouse built in the backyard, where they grow a variety of vegetables, herbs and fruits. The next improvement was to reopen the path to the hilltop behind the house, from which there are superb views of the town of Volcan in one direction and the Cordillera valley in another. The next improvement came a couple of years later and was extending the roof to cover the two patios on both sides of the house.
